The Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center will host the
Yiddish/Jewish film series. The movie
Two Sisters will be shown at 12:45 p.m.
on Monday, July 6. (There will be no
Sunday evening showing.) There is no
charge.
The second of Oak Park summer
concert series will feature Ron Coden at
7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at
Rothstein Park; bring a blanket. This
program is free of charge. In case of
rain, concert will be held at the Jimmy
Prentis Morris building.
Rabbi Steven Weil of Young Israel
will elaborate on the "Challenges of a
Different Geo-Political and Economic
Reality During the 21st Century" 1
p.m. on Monday; July 13.
For Women Only club will now
meet at 10:30 a.m. every Thursday.
Marilyn Wolfe will give a travelogue on
her upcoming fall trip to Turkey and
Greece at the July 16 meeting.
Opera singer William Broyles, Jr. will
entertain with Broadway tunes 1 p.m.
Thursday, July 16. He will be accompa-
nied by pianist Regina Papiyants. Free
of charge.
A weekly Erev Shabbat program with
Cantor David Gutman will take place
each Friday at 12:45 p.m.

Mitzvah Event

HMD's social action committee will
sponsor "Build a House, Build a Life" to
help renovate a house in downtown
Detroit, Sunday, July 19. Meet at the
JCC in Oak Park at 8:30 a.m. and take
vans downtown to perform this mitz-

The 1998 Schusterman Hillel
International Leaders Assembly will be
Aug. 25-30, at Camp Moshava in
Honesdale, Pa. For information, call
Hillel of Metro Detroit. EMU students
call EMU Hillel, (734) 487-1855.
Hillel of Metro Detroit is gearing up
for the fall semester. Students who will
be attending Wayne State University,
Oakland University, Oakland
Community College, Lawrence
Technological University, Eastern
Michigan University, or any other
Detroit area school should contact
HMD. HMD has programs going on
all summer for these students as well as
students who are home from college for
the summer.
