Michigan Region AZA and BBG presented Kadima, an organization which
provides Jewish residential and support services for adults with mental illness,
with a check for $1,257. Pictured are Meryl Schwartz, Andy Schwartz and

years, Schwartz is founding rabbi of

Clergy Council and has served on
the boards of Jewish Family Service,
the Jewish National Fund, the Union
of American Hebrew Congregations
Department of Education, the
United Jewish Appeal Rabbinic
Cabinet, the National Conference
for Community and Justice (formerly
known as the Detroit Interfaith
Round Table), the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra and Forgotten
Harvest.

Schwartz is author of several
books and has served as a technical
consultant on Jewish mystical prac-
tices to the television show "The X
Files."
Rabbi Marla J. Feldman, assistant
director for domestic concerns for
the Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit, is executive
director of the Michigan Board of
Rabbis.
The Michigan Board of Rabbis is
comprised of Orthodox,
Conservative, Reconstructionist,
Reform and Humanistic rabbis serv-
ing the Jewish communities of
Michigan. The Jewish Community
Council administers it.

The Congregation Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses Sisterhood will hold its
annual rummage sale 9 a.m.-3 p.m.,
Sunday, Aug. 16, and Monday, Aug.
17.
Gently used merchandise, house-
hold goods and miscellaneous items
will be accepted the week prior to
the sale. No merchandise can be
accepted on the sales days. Donation
receipts are available at the syna-
gogue office.
