Bar/Bat Mitzvahs
and Richard Boyer; great-grand-
mother is Margie Samuels.
A student at Orchard Lake Middle
School, Eli loves to ski, play baseball,
basketball and football and enjoys
the trumpet and computers. Among
his mitzvah projects were helping a
Russian immigrant learn English and
assisting sports classes at Shaarey
Zedek's Laker Center.
Lindsay Ceresnie
Lindsay Deanna Ceresnie will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, June 13, at Congrega-
tion B'nai
Moshe.
Lindsay is the
daughter of Bev-
erly and Roy
Ceresnie and sis-
ter of Martin.
She is also the
granddaughter of
the late Dorothy
and Max Gelman
and the late Martha and Harry
Ceresnie.
Lindsay is a seventh grade honor
student at the Clifford Smart Middle
School; she also volunteers for the
Friendship Circle. Her hobbies
include playing clarinet in the school
band, listening to music, reading,
computers and water sports.
Wendy Benson
Wendy Emily Benson will observe
her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, June
13. She is the
daughter of Mar-
jorie and Alan
Benson, sister of
Richard and
grandchild of
Betty and Don-
ald Benson and
Phyllis and Larry
Collins. Proud
great-grandmother is Lucille Benson.
On the honor roll at Norup Mid-
dle School where she plays the flute
in the school band, Wendy enjoys
singing and writing songs as well as
rollerblading and baseball. Among
her mitzvah projects was volunteer-
ing at a summer nursery day school
as she finds it rewarding to work
with small children.
Eve Weiner
Eve Arielle Weiner will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Satur-
day, June 13, at
Congregation
Beth Shalom in
Oak Park. She is
the daughter of
Karen Weiner
and Arnold J.
Weiner and the
sister of
Matthew. Cele-
brating with Eve will be her grand-
parents Arthur and Ann Lindenberg
of Chicago and Ida Weiner of Grand
Rapids.
Eve attends Norup Middle School
and Congregation Beth Shalom Reli-
gious School. Eve was a member of
both the Norup seventh grade girls
basketball team and the girls volley-
ball team. She will participate in the
Maccabi Games this August as a
member of the girls basketball team.
Besides an interest in playing and
watching sports, Eve enjoys being
with her friends and playing tenor
saxophone in the Norup seventh
grade band. Eve is a member of
Habonim Dror and the BBYO/JCC
Teen Connection program.
Lisa Yoskowitz
Lisa Yoskowitz became a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, June
6, at Congrega-
tion Beth Achim.
Lisa is the daugh-
ter of Rabbi Her-
bert and Rachel
Yoskowitz and
the sister of Marc
and Jeremy
Yoskowitz. Her
proud grandpar-
ents are Anne and Karl Finkelstein of
Baltimore, Md., and Nettie and
Harry Yoskowitz of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Lisa is a seventh grade student at
Hillel Day School. Her mitzvah pro-
jects include the Daniel Sobel
Friendship Circle and regular visits
to two JARC homes. She is interest-
ed in art, volleyball, swimming,
forensics and dramas.
Michael Williams
Michael Roy Casselman Williams of
Royal Oak will be bar mitzvah at the
Birmingham Temple Friday, June 12.
Rabbinic intern Adam Chalom will
lead services. Participating in the cer-
emony will be Mike's parents, Kevin
and Susan Williams. Grandmother
Elizabeth P. Casselman of Sun City
West, Ariz., will attend.
