A work has been displayed at the
Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse,
N.Y., and the J.B. Speed Art Museum
in Louisville, Ky.
"Our workshops [are] for artists
and students 18 years and older,
beginners through experienced
painters at all levels," said Halpern,
who is initiating the Petoskey pro-
L., gram with watercolorist Karin Hugi.
"Petoskey provides a variety of
sights to work from," said Halpern,
who taught art at Indiana State
University, where she received her
master's degree. "There are floral
areas, long docks into the water, gin-
gerbread buildings as well as several
nice galleries to browse."
Each program, whether held in
Petoskey or Birmingham, will explore
composition, color theory, painting
techniques and guidance in selecting
and developing a subject.
