"We have two professional lives
and we always share what's going on
in each other's lives. It can cause
laughter, pride in each other, tears for
one another at happy/sad times," he
says. "I sit back in awe at how proud
of her I am."
His sensitivity has allowed
Chodun to maintain close ties with
several former students, one of whom
started a chemistry study that eventu-
ally earned international recognition.
On a shelf in Chodun's office sits a
glass-enclosed display that the student
made for him.
He says, "As long as I can look at
kids in the middle school at the end
of the day and giggle, I'll stay."

Longtime Golfer
Gets Two Aces

Birmingham's
Andrew Moss had
never gotten a hole-
in-one in his 18
years of golfing.
Suddenly, he can't
stop getting them.
Moss had aces on
April 19 and May 3 — exactly two
weeks apart — at Knollwood Coun-
try Club.
The first was on the 220-yard sixth
hole, where he used a 5-wood. For
the second he used a 5-iron on the
180-yard 17th hole.
