Jeannie Weiner offers these suggestions
for places to go and things to do.
In Jerusalem, visit the Bible Lands
Museum, which highlights the cul-
tures and peoples of the Middle East
during biblical times. Also, take a
tour of the spectacular Supreme
Court building.
In the south is the Joe Alon Center
and the Museum of Bedouin Culture
near the Lahav Forest in the north-
eastern Negev. After seeing great dis-
plays of Bedouin culture, visitors
meet with Bedouins for traditional
coffee and dessert. In the south also is
Yad Mordechai and the largest apiary
in Israel; it's a great lunch stop and
there are honey products as well as a
large gift shop.
Near Caesaria are the town of
Zicharon Ya-acvov and the Aaronson
home and the . NILI Museum, which
was the headquarters of a spy ring
that helped the British liberate Pales-
tine from the Turks in 1917. At Zip-
pori in the north are archaeological
digs with a Michigan connection.
