CHaZaKaH, the Adat Shalom seniors,
will feature entertainer Penny Steyer at
a spring luncheon and program 12:30
p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the syna-
gogue.
Ms. Steyer is a vocalist, musician,
producer and director. As a classical
artist, she has toured Romania and
Poland and has appeared with promi-
nent orchestras.
The program is open to all commu-
nity seniors. There is a $5 charge for
CHaZaKaH members and a $6 non-

Linda Solomon
The Adat Shalom Synagogue
Sisterhood will feature celebrity pho-
tographer Linda Solomon at its annual
Donor Day luncheon and program 10
a.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the syna-
gogue.
Linda Solomon is a nationally rec-
ognized photojournalist. Ms. Solomon
had the first one-woman show in the
85-year history of the New York Friars
Club.
Donor Day events will begin with
coffee and boutiques. Lunch will be
served at noon. Prior to Ms.
Solomon's presentation, the group will
honor past sisterhood president
Hanna Linden for many years of dedi-
cated volunteerism within the syna-
gogue and in the community.
There is a minimum contribution
in order to attend Donor Day.
Proceeds from the afternoon will help
support the sisterhood's many pro-
jects, which benefit both Adat Shalom
and the community. Advance reserva-
tions by April 21 are required.

Day and Luncheon noon Thursday,
April 30, at Congregation Beth
Shalom. Mrs. Cooper will feature a
slide presentation on "Marc Chagall
and the Jewish School of Paris."
Mrs. Cooper is involved in two pro-
grams at the Detroit Institute of Arts:
the art to the schools program and the
Speakers Bureau.
There is a charge of $7.50 for lunch

The Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah will host a lunch and leain
program 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, April 22, at Hadassah
House, 5030 Orchard Lake Road,
West Bloomfield.
The guest speaker will be Rabbi
Stephen Weiss of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek who will discuss
"Redeeming the Spark: Kabbalah and
Jewish Spirituality" A dairy lunch will
be served.

lunch will follow. The ceremony also
will include the presentation of
NCJW's Emerging Leader Award to
Julie Zussman. The cost for this event
is $30 per person.
The incoming officers are: Myrn
Edgar, president; Fern Katz, vice presi-
dent of administration and finance;
Ellen Slovis, vice president of commu-
nity services; Joyce Seigel, vice presi-
dent of fund raising; Julie Zussman,
vice president of program and mem-
bership; Roz Blanck, vice president of
public affairs; and Sheila Guyer, vice
president of public relations.
