Sacrilege, you say? Nah. Bern's
therapist, Dr. Nussbaum, told him he
needed to get it off his chest.
Even better, his "Talkin' Alien
Abduction Blues" is a rib-splitting
Dylanesque send-up of "The X-Files"
mania and everyone who buys into
the whole extraterrestrial thing.
Recalling the first time he saw the
alien ship, Bern sings: "I could have
given spontaneous birth/If I was a
woman/And pregnant."
It doesn't make any sense, and yet it
does. And that's Bern in a nutshell.
