restaurant venture yet.
A RENOVATED farmhouse in
Royal Oak is the home now of Gilda's
Club Metro Detroit ... Festivities cele-
brating the opening are set for April
30, May 1 and May 2 ... The one April
30 will have founding members invited
to a strolling buffet dinner ... Founders
memberships are $500 per person with
each name permanently displayed on a
plaque in the Clubhouse ... May 1 and
2 will be complimentary open houses
for all.
BEVERLY HILLS Grill, which
recently celebrated its 10th anniversary,
was an inspiration owners Bill and Judi
Roberts got while visiting Mustard
Grill in California's Napa Valley.
They liked the good food and wine
served in a casual atmosphere at reason-
able prices.
Beverly Hills Grill on Southfield,
north of 13 Mile, isn't a big place, only
80 seats, serving breakfast, lunch and
dinner seven days a week ... but the
wine list is impressive.

COCO'S KORNER ... "If you're in
the area on Sunday, April 19, all that
barking and meowing are some of my
friends who've been invited to the
ninth annual Bow Wow Champagne
Brunch at the Ritz-Carlton in Dear-
born.
"It's by the Michigan Humane Soci-
ety, who does such swell work finding
homes for a bunch of unfortunate guys
and gals.
"Don't you just shiver all over when
you read about the barkers and meow-
ers who get abused? Sure glad there's a
Michigan Humane Society to get after
terrible people.
"I'm one of the lucky ones. But
there's a bunch of other pets who aren't
having it too good these days.
"By the way, I'm sure glad they did-
n't invite me to the affair. Mom and
pop say I can't hold my champagne.
They say it makes me act like a silly
mutt. Guess a toy poodle walking on
his head does look kind of weird."
