late Paul Goldstein.

She is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Phyl-
lis Hecker of Northbrook, Ill.;
daughter, Judith Becker of Hamtram-
ck; grandchildren, Charlie and David

Anderson, Kathleen Anderson, Lance
Anderson, Nicole Anderson-Hanes;
two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hecker
was the beloved wife of the late
Joseph Hecker.

EARL R. JACOBS, 63, of Bloom-
field Hills, died Feb. 20. Mr. Jacobs
was attorney and partner with the
firm Jacobs et. al. in Southfield and
the owner of Donna Jacobs Gallery
LTD in Birmingham. He started his
undergraduate studies at the Univer-
sity of Michigan at the age of 16 and
graduated from Wayne State Univer-
sity Law School at the age of 21. Mr.
Jacobs was a member of the Founders
Society-Sustaining Associate, Great
Lakes Yacht Club, past president of
the Antiquaries, former trustee of the
Detroit Institute of Arts, board mem-
ber of Chesed Shel Emes and a mem-
ber of the American Bar Association.
He is survived by his daughters,
Jody R. Jacobs of Bloomfield Hills,
Dr. Andrea Jacobs of Missouri;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and
Gail Jacobs of Franklin, Lanny and
Susan Jacobs of West Bloomfield; sis-
ter, Sheryl Jacobs of Birmingham. He
was the beloved husband of the late
Donna Jacobs.

JOSEPH KERTESZ, 85, formerly of

Jansky was the dear sister of the late

the late Gertie Rickman.

BERNARD L. KERNER, 77, of Oak
Ferndale of California, died Feb. 9.
He was a musician and a music
teacher in Detroit.
He is survived by his children,

Nicoara of Paicines, Calif.; grandchil-
dren, Joseph, James, Peter and Ann-
Marie Nicoara; six great-grandchil-
dren. He was the beloved husband of
the late Helen A. Kertesz.
