1VE any who go there for
the first time prefer to
keep their Italian dining
"find" a secret.
Others can't wait to tell their
friends about the little Italian restau-
rant that they "found."
Regulars just keep going back ...
enjoying the discovery they had made
years ago.
Moro's on Allen Road, just west of
Southfield in Allen Park, is celebrating
its 17th anniversary.
In this time, the former site of
Captain Nick's Greek restaurant, seat-
ing only about 75 people, has attained
a reputation as being among Michi-
gan's finer Italian dining spots ... with
added features that please a multitude
of people.
These customers prefer traveling to
Moro's from all parts of metropolitan
Detroit for the excellent and unique
dining experience that is encountered.
Visitors can't say enough about
Tom Moro's excellent cuisine ... Its
wonderful service and presentation of
food ... the astoundingly low prices ...
thorough cleanliness ... gracious sur-
roundings.
In so many words, Moro's has
everything necessary for a highly satis-
fying dining adventure.
The sometimes lost art of tableside
preparation is a big Moro's feature ...
Even the salad that is prepared with
dinner entrees is tossed tableside and
deftly placed on gleaming dishes.
Also, entrees like veal Olympic and
shrimp Bordelaise, both flamed with
brandy and Madeira wine ... and beef
Maison, sauteed with a tomato, creme
sherry and natural beef juices sauce ...
From the rolling tableside cart, too, is
chateaubriand for two.
The flaming desserts from well-
stocked carts are like so many I used
to know years back ... We had straw-
berries Romonoff served over French
vanilla ice cream, and remembered
when it was served to us years back at
the Pump Room in Chicago's Palmer
House Hotel ... Would you believe
this one was better?

Pasta orders are served with salad ...
During prime dinner time, there is
normally a short wait for seating
because of its limited capacity ...
Reservations are not accepted ... But
here is one place folks don't mind
waiting because they are not forgotten
or are just a number ... Also, the din-
ing experience proves to be worth it.
Many times while customers are
waiting, they are given garlic bread
and varied finger foods to munch on
... During summer months, the hors
d'oeuvres might be fried zucchini,
breaded mushrooms, etc.
Believe me, this fine little touch has
made many friends.
But certainly not more than those
