DON E BERNS, 66, of Los
Angeles, died Dec. 30. Mr. Berns
was a self-employed housing apprais-
er.
He is survived by his sister and
brother-in-law, Mary Ann and David
Goldenson of Maryland; nephews
and nieces, Dennis and Vanessa
Goldenson, Andy Goldenson,
Matthew Goldenson. Mr. Berns was
the dear brother of the late Philip
Charles Berns.
Interment at Woodmere
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the American Heart
Association, 16310 West 12 Mile
Road, Southfield, MI 48076.

MAXINE E. BERTIN, 83, of
Boynton Beach, Fla., and Bloomfield
Hills, .died Jan. 19. Mrs. Bertin was
co-owner of Bertin & Bertin
Insurance Agency and also co-owned
the United Stock Farm, which raced
standard-bred horses. She was a
member of the U.S. Trotting
Association and the Michigan
Harness Horsemen's Association and
a past president of her ORT chapter.
She was also a member of Temple
Beth El, Franklin Hills Country
Club and she supported over 100
charities.
Mrs. Bertin is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara
and Daniel Marcus of Bloomfield
Hills; son and daughter-in-law,
Kenneth and Linda Bertin of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Denise
and Michael McGranahan, Amy
Letzer, Jill and Craig Langley, Dr.
.Kim and Dr. Jerry Josen, Gennifer
Bertin; great-grandson, Benjamin
McGranahan; sister and brother-in-
law, Lenore and Arnold Greer of
Florida; sister-in-law, Ruth Bertin.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Sidney J. Bertin.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to

HENRY CHANNEN, 75, of
Livonia, died Jan. 17.
He is survived by his sons and
daughter-in-law, Rabbi Donald and
Yehudit Channen of Israel, Benjamin
Channen of Long Beach, Calif.;
brother, Nate Channen of
Lexington, Mass.
Mr. Channen was the beloved
husband of the late Lillian Channen.

LOIS LOVE COHEN, 80, of West
Bloomfield, died Jan. 15. Mrs.
Cohen was a member of the Infant
Service Group and a lifelong mem-
ber of Temple Beth El.
She is survived by her husband,
Sidney Cohen; son, Allan Cohen of
Coconut Grove, Fla.; daughters and
sons-in-law, Linda and John Schoen of
Irondale, Ala., Judy and Peter Evans of
Waterford; grandchildren, Alanna,
Diane and Darren Schoen, Derek and
Richard Evans; sister, Jeannette Cohen
of West Bloomfield. Mrs. Cohen was
the dear sister of the late Dorothy
Love Green.

SHIRLEY CUTLER, 83, of
Westland, died Jan. 17.
She is survived by her husband,
Nathan Cutler; daughter, Rosalind
Gwaltney of Westland; sister, Betty
Rowland of LaCrescenta, Calif.;
grandson, Steven Arlow. Mrs. Cutler
was the loving mother-in-law of the
late Tom Gwaltney.

JENNIE RASH DUNN, 102, of
West Bloomfield, died Jan. 20.
She is survived by her daughters

Farmington Hills, Pearl Greenberg of
West Bloomfield, Phyllis and John
Hughes of Urbana, Ill., Roselyn and
Morton Cohen of Westland, Bernice
and Dr. Myron Fine of Dallas, Texas;
16 grandchildren; 19-great-grand-
children; one great-great-grandchild.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Solomon Rush; sister of the late
Shirley Budman; sister-in-law of the
late Eunice Levine.
Graveside services were held at
Hebrew Memorial Park Cemetery in
Mt. Clemens. Contributions may be

Farmington Hills, died Jan. 18.
Mrs. Fienman was an executive with
E & L Meats. She was a member
