Professor
Rosman is the
1997 Padnos Visiting Professor of
Judaic Studies at the University of
Michigan and is known as the schol-
ar who discovered the Ba'al Shem
Tov's tax records in a Cracow
archive. His book, Founder of
Hasidism: A Quest for the Historical
Ba'al Shem Toy was awarded the 1996
National Jewish Book Award in the
category of history.
Professor Rosman's presentation is
open to the public and is free of
