Blackman was the loving daughter of

Ferndale of Cape Coral, Fla., died
Nov. 13. He was a retired employee of
the Allstate Insurance Company in
Southfield.
He is survived by his wife, Olga;
son Lawrence Cohen and his partner
Sharon Cross of Las Vegas, Nev.;
daughter and son-in-law, Arlene
Cohen and Darryl Palmer of Toronto;
grandchildren, Sheila and Geoffrey
Geiersbach of Redford, Jonathan
Cohen of Oak Park, Jessica Bridges-
Palmer of Toronto; great-grandchil-
dren, Jessica and Ashley Geiersbach;
sisters, Phyllis Himelson and Ann
Manning. He was the loving husband
of the late Edith Kali); brother of the
late Ethel Robbins.
A memorial service will be held in
West Bloomfield on Nov. 23.

ESTHER KHAYA FELDMAN, 90,
of Flint, died Nov. 17.
She is survived by her son and

LINDA LAWSON HERBST, 51, of
West Bloomfield, died Nov. 12. A
librarian, Mrs. Herbst was a honor
graduate of University of Michigan
and Wayne State. She began her career
at the Bloomfield Township Library as
part-time reference librarian in 1978.
She was promoted to first assistant in
the reference department, then head
of the department and then to head of
the Adult Services Department in
1995. She was an active member of
the Michigan Library Association. She
pioneered and lectured throughout the
state on using the computer in med-
ical research. Mrs. Herbst was a mem-
ber of Beta Phi Mu International
Library Science Honor Society.
Mrs. Herbst is survived by her hus-
band, Norman Herbst; sons and a
fiancee, Bradley Herbst and Merrie
White of West Bloomfield and
Jonathon Herbst of West Bloomfield;
parents, Dr. Jack and Ruby Lawson of
West Bloomfield; sister and brother-
in-law, Eileen and Lawrence Hyman
of West Bloomfield; brother, Bruce
Lawson of Florida; daughter-in-law of
Fred Herbst of West Bloomfield. She
was the daughter-in-law of the late Ida
Herbst.

beloved daughter of the late Arnold
Lee.

highly respected teacher and counselor

31 years.

GERTRUDE T NUSHOLTZ, 71, of
Pompano Beach, Fla., and West
Bloomfield, died Nov. 13. Mrs.
Nusholtz was a member of Women's
American ORT, Hadassah and

Mrs. Nusholtz is survived by her
husband, Donald Nusholtz; sons and
a daughter-in-law, Dr. Marc Nusholtz
of Spring Arbor, Mich., and Robert
and Susan Nusholtz of Southfield;
daughter and son-in-law, Roxane and
Brian Norman of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Jeffrey Nusholtz and
