U How does Adelson handle as many
as three sales on a weekend? His wife
will take one crew, his father-in-law
Bernie Eckelman another, and
Adelson will take yet another crew.
'"-'We follow the same format at every
;sale that we do, so how can you go
wrong?" said Adelson, adding he has
done as many as five sales on a single
w--,ekend.
In terms of turnaround time,
Adelson can do most sales within a
two-week period. Usually the time
involved is just one week. "We go
_Monday to Monday," said Adelson.
e come in on Monday and do our
advertising information inventory.
Then we come in Wednesday and
Thursday and set up and price. Friday,
Saturday and Sunday are sale days.
The following Monday we're out of
there, and everything unsold is donat-
ed to charity, so the client is able to
take advantage of tax benefits. We
tricl a closing package in the mail
within a week, giving the client an
inventory of all items that were sold, a
guaranteed check from my company
for my client's end which is anywhere
f.1_,rn 65 to 75 percent, and a donation
receipt accompanied by a donation
appraisal ready to give to their accoun-
tant.
"When we're finished, you can take
tflose two documents, the inventory
and the donation, and reconstruct the
entire sale.
"People say, `How do you know
everything?' I tell them I don't. I know
a'ttle bit about a lot of stuff and I
know when to start looking for the
