WHO WILL RECEIVE
ZOA'S PRESTIGIOUS JUSTICE LOUIS D. BRANDEIS AWARD

Distinguished attorney and civic leader, Mr. Miller is a Senior Partner with the law
firm of Lopatin, Miller, Freedman, Bluestone,.Herscovic, Heilman and Domol. He has
held top positions-in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and in the Michigan
Trial Lawyers Association. Cited by the New York Law Journal as "one of the top tort
litigators in the United States", Mr. Miller also served as Adjunct Professor at the
University of Detroit Law School. More recently, he was the recipient of the first
"Champion of Justice" award by the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. A committed
friend and supporter of Israel, Mr. Miller currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Metro
Detroit Attorney Division of State of Israel Bonds.

Brown beef in large skillet over medi-
urn-high heat, stirring often, about 5
minutes or until beef is crumbly and
browned. Drain fat, season with salt
and pepper to taste. Stir in tomatoes
and spinach.
Simmer over medium heat 4-5
minutes. Stir in rice. Serve immediate-
ly. Makes 4 servings.

QUICK-TO-FIX
SOUTHWESTERN RICE
(PAREVE)
2 cups water
8-ounce jar chunky salsa
2 cups quick-cooking rice,
uncooked
15- or 16-ounce can black beans,
drained and rinsed
11-ounce can corn with red and
green peppers
tortilla chips (optional)
Combine water and salsa in large
skillet over medium-high heat; bring
to a boil. Stir in rice, beans and corn.
Remove from heat; cover and let
stand 10 minutes.
Fluff with a fork; serve immediate-
ly with tortilla chips, if desired, or as
a side dish. Makes 4 servings.

ARTICHOKE RICE SALAD
(PAREVE)
one 6-ounce box chicken-flavored
rice
6-ounce jar marinated artichoke
bottoms
3 tablespoons chopped green
onions
12 large pimento-stuffed olives,
sliced
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
salt and pepper to taste
Cook rice according to package
directions. Drain and chop arti-
chokes, reserving liquid. Add onions,
olives and artichoke hearts to the rice
mixture. Slowly add the artichoke
marinade until the salad is desired
consistency. Serve warm or refrigerate
and serve chilled. Makes 8 servings.

Valuable Stir &
Storage Rice Tricks:

* Saute cooked rice in butter or
margarine with chopped onion, salt
and pepper to serve in place of pota-
toes.
* Stir crunchy granola into hot
buttered rice; top with milk or
yogurt.
* Scramble cooked rice with eggs
