At the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish

Monday, Oct. 6, Overture to Glory
will be shown. This Yiddish film,
with subtitles, stars Cantor Moishe
Oysher. There is no charge.
The Yiddish Culture Club will
meet, 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at
JPM. This group is led by Chaim
Rosenthal. There is no charge.
The Center Forum meets every
Thursday at 10:30 a.m. David

The meeting will feature Professor
Joyce Antler, chairperson at the
American Studies Department at
Brandeis, speaking on "Rabbis,
Rebels and Supreme Court Justices:
Jewish Women and the Shaping of

Lila Lazarus, WDIV-TV's good
medicine reporter and weekend
anchor, will be the guest speaker at
the opening program of the
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
Sisterhood, 11:30 a.m. Monday,
Oct. 20, at the synagogue. She will
speak on "Coming Home."
The event is free to paid-up
sisterhood members; guests are
welcome at a $12 fee. Reservations
are required.

Family Ties
Are Explored

Several area Jewish women's organi-
zations are joining together for the
annual Joint Women's Day 10 a.m.
Thursday, Oct. 30, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek.
Titled "Family Ties," the program c-:— \
will feature a keynote address by
best-selling author Carol Saline. Ms.
Saline is an award-winning journalist
and broadcaster. She is a senior edi-
tor at Philadelphia Magazine, where
she specializes in health, politics and
investigative reporting. Her topic
will be "Mothers and Daughters: The
Unbreakable Bond."
The programs also will feature
personal discovery workshops.
Registration begins at 10 am.
Admission fee is $25. Babysitting
