saved the lives of many others.

A story that continues to not want to go a way. Local
rabbis of all denominations repudiate the Union of
Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada for
saying that the Reform and Conservative movements are
not Jewish. Pluralism remains today our biggest battle -
within Judaism.
The Jewish Vocational Service wins a $2.4 million
contract to service the unemployed of Detroit. The
Jewish community continues its debate over school
vouchers. The Danto Family Health Center gets a goo
inspection. The Oak Park eruv will include Huntington
Woods.
Former Jewish News intern Lisa Pollak wins a Pulitzer
for her work on the Baltimore Sun. The Bloomfield Hills
native wrote a story on Major League umpire John
Hirschbeck's son, who has adrenoleukodystrophy.
Hirschbeck was the umpire who was spit on by
Baltimore Oriole second baseman Roberto Alomar.
