ber as the new 865 Deli opens near
Hakata on Northwestern, between
Middlebelt and 14 Mile ... The new
Russian-Jewish carry-out delicatessen is
already causing comment with its low
prices and partner/chef Tatiana's variety
of tasty food... Seating may soon be
available.
FORMER CHINA City restaurant
on 12 Mile and Telegraph will be torn
down ... and Starbuck's Coffee will go
in with a java shop ... Long-term lease
has been signed by the national chain
and Star Deli, which owns the property.
IT'S ONLY BEEN open about 15
months, but Dick and Harry's on
Holcomb Bridge Road in the Holcomb
Bridge Plaza of Roswell, Ga., has
already developed a following of loyalty.
By becoming a local gem, the 140-
seat restaurant opened by brothers
Richard and Harold Marmulstein, has
developed into a favorite because of
conscientious attributes necessary for
success in the restaurant game.
They care ... One of the brothers,
Harold, is its chef, watching the back,
while the other brother, Richard, greets
people in front and makes sure their
customers are satisfied.
Having both the back and front of a
restaurant watched, with the presence of
full customer satisfaction, is extremely
important if dining spots want folks to
return.
Next time you're in Atlanta, go to
the nearby Roswell suburb and enjoy a
piece of swordfish you'll talk about ...
wood grilled on garlic mashed potatoes,
with grilled onions, peppers and red
wine sauce ... Or the appetizers of
portabello mushrooms wood grilled
with goat-cheese whipped potatoes,
roasted tomatoes and red wine sauce.
Jerry and Carol Yaeger took us to
Dick and Harry's on a recent visit to
Atlanta, and it was a culinary experience
that will bring us back.
RUMORS TO THE contrary
notwithstanding, Stage & Co. on
Orchard Lake Road, south of Maple,
has not been sold, says owner Steve
Goldberg ... And, he says, it is not for
sale ... In fact, following Stage celebrat-
ing its 15th year in West Bloomfield
after moving from Oak Park, Steve
recently signed a lease for another 10
years on the Boardwalk.
TASTE OF ISRAEL, with its carry-
out Middle Eastern cuisine, has taken
over Lakewood Kosher Specialties on
Greenfield and 10 Mile ... It is now
operating both a carry-out kosher
restaurant and kosher market ... The
Lakewood name is gone and the entire
setup is called Taste of Israel.

Wishing our customers &friends
the best in good health & happiness
