* While Nancy Gurwin
works on productions in
Michigan, her son,
Danny Gurwin, a musi-
cal theater graduate of
the University of
Michigan, is playing in
Sweeney Todd at the
Pioneer Theatre in Salt
Lake City, Utah. He has
the role of Tobias in the
professional regional com-
pany's three-week run.
"It's a great stretch
role, a journey that fol-
lows a shy and with-
drawn man as he
becomes aggressive and
ultimately out of con-
trol," said Gurwin, who
has been cast in his sec-
ond role at Pioneer.
Earlier, he had the part
of Jack in Into the Woods.
As Tobias, Gurwin
sings "Nothing's Going
to Harm You" and is
thrilled to be invited
back to the state and one
of its notable stages.
