Chapters of Na'amat, Greater
Detroit Council will meet 12:30
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the
Crown Point building.
Dr. Phoebe Mainster will
speak on 'What's Happening in
Eastern Europe." She also will
show slides. A mini lunch will be
served. There is no charge.

Sisterhood
Book Club Meets
The Adat Shalom Synagogue Sis-
terhood will launch its 1997-1998
Book Club with a meeting, 7:15
p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. The
group, which will meet in private
homes five times this year, is di-
rected by Adele Robins, profes-
sional book discussion leader. The
opening book selection is Out of
Egypt by Andre Aciman.
Additional meetings will be
held Nov. 6, Jan. 22, Mar. 5 and
May 7. There is a $20 per person
fee for the year.

Rick Bloom
Gives Talk
Rick Bloom, Host of WXYT's
"Money Talk," will be the guest
speaker at the 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 17, dinner
meeting of the Temple Beth El
Sisterhood.
A lecturer for many civic and
professional organizations, Bloom
writes a daily column for the De-
troit News and frequently ap-
pears on WXYZ TV, Channel 7,
as a financial correspondent.
Bloom also is a certified public ac-
countant. His topic will be "In-
vesting in Your Children's and
Grandchildren's Future."
