director of events and design for the Tel-
luride Film Festival, is responsible for the
visual aspects of what makes the festival
unique.
"Any event happening outside the the-
ater is my responsibility," she says. "I think
I've done a good job and I'm proud of that.
We have fantastic programming, a won-
derful staff and the festival has a look that
is unique.
"You can walk down the street and bump
into this great Chinese director whose work
influenced your life. And he's right there,
walking down the street," explains Lowe.
"There is a magic, and that's why we're
different than most of the small-town fes-
tivals. It is unique in its existence." ❑
