ack in 1952, Lil and Harry
Bloom opened what was to
become one of the finest
kosher catering operations
in this area.
Mayfair Kosher Catering on
Dexter and Davison was their
pride and joy, and many corn-
munity-ites affixed proud signa-
tures to Lil and Harry's contracts
for their weddings, parties, bar
mitzvahs, etc.
They were eventually joined in
the kosher catering business by
daughter Shirlee Bloom and son
Harvey Bloom, now living in
Florida.
Harry passed on in 1958, and
in 1964, Lil, Shirlee and Harvey
moved Mayfair to Seven Mile
and Schaefer ... After 14 years,
with Harvey going out on his
own, Lil and Shirlee were at
Rabbi Leo Goldman's Congre-
gation Shaar Hashomayim, 10
