MAX FISHER, Detroit philan-

thropist and community leader,
received an honorary doctor of
laws degree at Brandeis Uni-
versity's commencement cere-
monies in Waltham, Mass. In
February, Brandeis announced
the Fisher-Bernstein Institute
for Leadership Development, es-
tablished through a gift from Mr.
Fisher.

NORAH HERMAN, a student

at West Bloomfield's Abbott
Middle School, was awarded a
$305 scholarship by Marshall
Music Co. for summer study at
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
