Giorgio Sonnino, a Holocaust sur-
vivor, will speak at a June con-
ference in Detroit. 'The Holocaust
in Southern Europe" will be 1-5
p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the
Holocaust Memorial Center,
6602 West Maple Road in West
Bloomfield. It is free and open to
the public.
Giorgio Sonnino, a Detroit res-
ident, will describe his experi-
ences while living in Rome under
Mussolini's racial laws at the
time of the Holocaust.
The conference will feature a
documentary, The Righteous En-
emy, describing Italian military
efforts to subvert the Nazi round-
ups of the Jews in Italy and the
Mediterranean. A photo exhibit
on the Jewish Ghetto of Rome
will be on display during the con-
ference. The exhibit was prepared
by Italy Italy Magazine. For in-
