Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Brian Finstad, brother of Lahna
and Evon and grandchild of Ros-
alyn and Seymour Pearlman and
Mildred Finstad and the late
Bjarne Finstad.
Planting trees in Israel was a
special mitzvah project. Zack at-
tends Warner Middle School and
his interests include rollerblad-
ing, floor hockey, video and com-
puter games.

Lauren Nest

Lauren Elissa Nest will celebrate
her bat mitzvah at Temple Israel
on Friday, May 23. She is the
daughter of Suzanne Nest and
Jeffrey Nest, sister of David and
grandchild of T and Izrael Sess-
er and Ann Nest.
Lauren is a student at Orchard
Lake Middle School; her hobbies
are dancing, horseback riding and
gymnastics.

Melissa Turbow

Matthew Licavoli

Matthew Herschel Licavoli will
be called to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah at Temple Israel on Sat-
urday, May 24. He is the son of
Debbie and Joseph Licavoli, broth-
er of Stefanie and grandchild of
Rosalie and Dominic Licavoli and
Rose and Abram Winogron.
He donated time and funds to
the Holocaust Memorial Center.
Matt is an honor student at Warn-
er Middle School and enjoys mu-
sic, basketball, tennis and golf

Melissa Turbow of West Bloom-
field will be called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah on Saturday, May
24, at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Rabbis Nevins and Spectre as well
as Cantors Glantz and Vieder will
officiate. Melissa has attended
Mat Shalom Religious School and
has completed her 13 mitzvah re-
quirements.
Melissa's parents, Doreen and
Sanford Turbow, will participate
in the service with Melissa's sis-
ter Rachel and her proud grand-
mother Irene Turbow of
Farmington Hills. Melissa is the
granddaughter of the late Sam
Turbow, Margaret and Louis Pol-
lak.
Melissa is an honor student at
Abbott Middle School where she
plays clarinet in the symphony
band. Melissa is an avid reader, a
collector of baseball cards and an
active softball player who partic-
ipates in South Farmington Base-
ball League.
