JESSICA JACOBS
Hitsky is co-president of Na-
tional Honor Society, two-time
Michigan Math Competition fi-
nalist, Phi Beta Kappa, four-year
varsity swimmer, two-time All-
State, All-America and co-cap-
tain of the water polo team. He
is treasurer and former vice-pres-
ident of L'Chaim AZA. He won a
U-M Regents-Alumni Scholar-
ship and will attend the Univer-
sity of Michigan.
Hochman is Cum Laude Soci-
ety Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa.
She won the Strickland Creative
Writing Award and other honors
for poetry and critical writing.
She is co-president of her
Amnesty International chapter
and editor of a school literary
magazine. She won a Universi-
ty of Michigan Regents-Alumni
Scholarship, but will attend Vas-
sar College.
Hollenberg is a member of Na-
tional Honor Society, Scholars
Plus, tennis team, Israel Culture
Club president, class secretary,
and secretary and member of the
year of Shaarey Zedek USY. She
was a University of Michigan
Teen Scholar. She will attend
Boston University.
Jacobs is co-valedictorian and
active in National Honor Society,
Spanish Honor Society, Future
Problem Solving, treasurer of
Michigan Region NFTY, former
president of Temple Emanu-El
Temple Youth, alumni repre-
sentative for National Young
Leaders Conference and involved
with Tri-District Student Lead-
ership Academy. She will attend
Haverford College.
Kaplan is a member of Nation-
al Honor Society, Phi Beta
Kappa, senior board, varsity
gymnastics, Temple Israel Youth
Federation treasurer, and recip-
ient of the Kutz Leadership
Academy Scholarship and the
English Merit Award. She will
study pre-medicine at the Uni-
versity of Michigan.

Kaplow is Phi Beta Kappa, a
National Merit finalist, and
served in class government for
four years. He was a Boy's State
representative and a JARC vol-
unteer. He received University
of Michigan Regents-Alumni and
LS&A Merit scholarships, but
will study international business
at the University of Pennsylva-
nia.
Katz is a member of National
Honor Society and won the Stu-
dent Excellence Award. She was
student director for Bye Bye
Birdie, studied in Israel for a se-
mester during junior year, is a
speaker for the Michigan/Israel
Connection and member of the
Nadiv Committee. She will at-
tend the University of Michigan.
Kaplan was senior class presi-
dent, costume manager for the
senior drama production, active
volunteer in the Chesed Pro-
gram, and Phi Beta Kappa. She
plans to attend seminary in the
forthcoming school year.
Berkley
Katz is Phi Beta Kappa, Na-
tional Honor Society member,
newspaper editor, was sopho-
more class president, on track
team and Student Council. She
is BBG International vice presi-
dent and Michigan Region pres-
ident, and was International
Jewish Awareness chairwoman.
She plans to study business or
communications at the Univer-
sity of Michigan.

Kaye is in National Honor Soci-
ety, International Thespian
Society president, Student Con-
gress secretary and Phi Beta
Kappa. She has performed in 10
Groves plays and was awarded
Birmingham Panhellenic and
Groves Thespian scholarships
for summer study at Interlochen.
She was named a University
Scholar and will study musical
theater at Pennsylvania State
University Honors College. •
