The filmmaker contends that
the Knesset "Political Direc-
torate" was led by Hanegbi and
included then-opposition leader
Binyamin Netanyahu; the mod-
erate settlers' "Joint Staff' was
led by then-Council of Jewish
Communities in Judea, Samaria
and Gaza (YESHA) leader Uri
Ariel; and the violent extrem-
ists, known as the "Action Head-
quarters," were led by admirers
of the late Meir Kahane and
Baruch Goldstein.
Mr. Hanegbi, the Likud's op-
erations officer in the struggle
against Mr. Rabin, "made the
ties between the Knesset oppo-

raeli public — to the acute dis-
comfort of some.
A documentary titled The
Road to Rabin Square (Kings of
Israel Square until Rabin was
murdered there) previewed in
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem recent-
ly in advance of its scheduled
broadcast on Israel Television's
Channel Two. Some settler ac-
tivists tried unsuccessfully to
block the broadcast and more
moderate ones, along with Jus-
tice Minister Tsachi Hanegbi,
have threatened to sue the film
makers.

paign. It is not being shown in
Israel because of presumed lack
of interest. One figure men-
tioned in this section is New
York Rabbi Avraham Hecht,
who publicly declared that ac-
cording to Jewish law, Mr. Ra-
bin was a traitor to his people
who deserved execution.

fame the right-wing's effort to
"battle in democratic fashion on
behalf of its opinions and be-
liefs."
On camera, Mr. Domb ex-
pressed regrets that the move-
ment failed to distance
