The Oakland County Crisis Re-
sponse Organization has made
awards to individuals who
demonstrated the importance
of responding to emotional
needs of individuals in crisis.
One of the recipients is Tony
Rothschild, vice president of
OCCRO and chief executive of-
ficer of Common Ground. One
of the five-year volunteers re-
ceiving recognition was Cheryl
Sugarman of Royal Oak. The
Governor's Honor Roll for out-
standing community service
was awarded to Marsha Zuck-
er of Huntington Woods.
Dr. Warren Brandes has
been appointed to the board of
the National Institutes of
Health. Dr. Brandes is a fellow
in the American Osteopathic
College of Ophthalmology and
Otorhinolaryngology and an as-
sistant clinical professor at the
Osteopathic Medical School at
Michigan State University.

Dr. Marc Borovoy served as
the podiatric course chairman
at the international conference
of the American Society of
Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Mathew Borovoy com-
pleted his tenure as chairman
of the Podiatric Division; he has
served for past 11 years.
Providence Hospital is seeking
cancer patients for a research
study to investigate a thera-
peutic drug for the treatment
of various types of cancer. To
participate, patients must be at
least 18, not undergoing thera-
py with other investigational
agents or taking homeopathic
remedies or vitamin supple-
