ish continuity and Torah
education, the Law of Re-

Adat Shalom
Hosts Scholar

Rabbi Debra Orenstein
will be Adat Shalom Syn-
agogue's guest scholar
Friday-Saturday, May 9-
10, as the congregation
marks Yom Ha'atzmaut,
the anniversary of the
State of Israel.
Families with children
of all ages are invited to
a Shabbat service and
family dinner on Friday
evening. Following the
meal, Rabbi Orenstein
will present a short pro-
gram on "The Shema:
And You Shall Teach
Them to Your Children."
The Shabbat dinner Rabbi Orenstein
will follow services at 6
p.m. There is a $14 charge for adults and an $8 fee for chil-
dren. Reservations are required.
The following morning, Rabbi Orenstein will speak at ser-
vices on "A Holiness Code for Contemporary Jews."
At a Friday evening Young Adult Shabbat Service, Rabbi
Orenstein will explore "Israel-Diaspora Relations: Beyond Se-
curity and Philanthropy."
