New Pledges
Exceed Goal

The largest number of pledges
ever made during Allied Jewish
Campaign Days of Decision,
April 6-9, contributed to a total
of $1,460,000
$260,000 more
than the goal — raised during
the annual four-day phonathon
which brings the 1997 Campaign
to its formal close.
A total of 1,180 contributors
were recorded during the event,
in which more than 300 volun-
teers took to the telephones on
behalf of the community. The
number of pledges exceeded last
year's number by 100.
