Why should this night be different? Health experts
offer advice for holiday weight control.

RONI B. ROBBINS SPECIAL TO THE JEWISH NEWS

r. Joseph Rechtschaffen
doesn't know why weight
watchers expend calories
worrying about the
Passover seder.
From his New York office he
asks, Why should this night be
any different than any other
when it comes to healthful eat-
ing?
For a gastroenterologist who
eats a board of matzah every day
for lunch with a tomato and,ap-

daily dietary routine. But for oth-

weight control habits are the two
seders, multi-course, cholesterol-
rich banquets that stretch until
the wee hours in the name of tra-
dition. Several Jewish experts
in nutrition, weight loss and

brisket, kugel — noodle or pota
to pudding — and chocolate good
ies you want, says Marci
Baumrind, a Weight Watch
instructor.
The key is to decide on limi
ahead of time. Ms. Baumrin
