HIAS Exhibit
On Immigration

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid So-
ciety is combatting anti-immi-
grant sentiment in the United
States by re-releasing an exhib-
it that depicts the history of Jew-
ish immigration, rescue and
resettlement.
"HIAS Means Freedom" in-
cludes 16 panels showing pho-
tographs of HIAS's New York
shelter for immigrants, the Ellis
Island years, resettlement of dis-
placed persons from the Nazi
concentration camps, and reset-
tlement efforts during the Cold
War through the early 1990s.
A 16-minute video documen-
tary accompanies the exhibit.
The free exhibit is available to
community centers, schools and
organizations. For information,
call Rachelle Grossman at HIAS,
(212) 613-1349.

* The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) applicable to your account will vary depending on your credit limit and the loan-to-value ratio. The APR is determined by taking
the weekly average prime rate as published by the Federal Reserve Board during the last week of March. June, September and December and adding a margin.
The maximum APR is 18%. A balloon payment may be due at maturity. You must carry insurance on the property that secures your Equity Line. Consult your
tax advisor regarding the tax deductibility of interest. Tax laws are subject to change and individual tax situations vary. ©1997 Standard Federal Bank

AJC Publishes
McVeigh Overview

The American Jewish Commit-
tee expects militia groups in the
United States to become more
paranoid during the trial of Tim-
othy McVeigh.
In The McVeigh Trial, re-
leased as the trial began, the
AJC's Kenneth Stern discusses
the likelihood that outsiders will
try to influence the jury, the
FBI's crime lab problems and
prosecution strategies with
McVeigh's white supremacist
ideologies.
McVeigh is accused of bomb-
ing the Murrah Federal Build-
ing in Oklahoma City on April
19, 1995. Some 168 people died.
