of raising two boys on her own.
Inventing the Abbotts rises
above the hackneyed nature of
its story, providing audiences
with a moving look at love, envy
and the self-destructive side of
adolescence. Based on a short
story by Sue Miler (The Good
Mother) and the work of Irish
director Pat O'Connor (Circle of
Friends), it's an intelligent
movie, one which rewards its
audience with a lovely ending
and a wealth of characters who
stay with you long after you
leave the theater.
