the Olympics, perhaps in 2002.
Can she accomplish her goal?
"She's got a lot of ability," Shpil-
bland says. "She's probably one
of the most talented little skaters
in the United States. She defi-
nitely has a lot of talent. But she
definitely has a lot of things to
work on."
Silverstein, however, may be
her own worst critic. "I'll see a
video of myself and I'll always
find something that I think is
wrong and everyone tells me rm
doing great and rm like, 'What?'
"I think I actually got that from
Igor [Shpilbland] and Liz [Coates,
her other coach]. When I first
came here, I wasn't lazy but I
wasn't used to the training sched-
ule that they do around here. And
Igor would always say, 'Better,
but still. bad.' I think having him
always say that made me judge
myself differently.
"So when things are good I
know they can be better.
"I see Liz and Jerod and I see
where they are, and I want to be
like them. Or Eve and Matt. See-
ing them and seeing where I can
go helps me see the light at the
end of the tunnel."
