Book Series
The Cultural Commission of
Congregation Beth Achim will
host a Book Bites discussion,
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at
the home of Carol and Joe Tar-
ica.
The book to be discussed will
be The Romance Reader, by
Pearl Abraham. The reviewer
will be Les Hubert.

will host Ellyce Field, the Detroit
News "Kid Stuff' columnist and
author ofKid's Catalog of Michi-
gan Adventures, 7:30-9 p.m.
Monday, March 17, at the Par-
enting Center.
Ms. Field will focus on suc-
cessful strategies for traveling
with children and offer a guide's
look at metro Detroit sites, sea-
sonal events, Michigan day
trips, overnight vacations and
out-of-the-way explorations.

Lawyers Plan
Israel Mission
The Temple Beth El Brother-
hood, in cooperation with the
American Red Cross, will hold its
semi-annual blood drive, 8 a.m.-
2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at the
temple.

Jewish judges and lawyers are
invited to participate in a first
of its kind mission to Israel Oct.
25-Nov. 2, sponsored by the Jew-
ish Federations of Metropolitan
Detroit and Washtenaw Coun-
ty.
Designed to acquaint local
professionals with legal institu-
tions and issues in Israel, the
mission will include visits to
courts, including the new Israeli
Supreme Court building. Par-
ticipants also will have free time
to tour the country. Following
the mission will be an optional
tour of Jordan.
Cost of the trip includes
airfare from Detroit and deluxe
hotel accommodations. Partici-
pants will be asked to make a
pledge to the 1998 Allied
Jewish Campaign. For details,

Stretch, Reach
Spring Program
SZ Productions
March Program
Applications are now being ac-
cepted for the Stretch and Reach
Program for the spring semester.
Stretch and Reach is an after-
school program of supervised
physical exercise and social in-
teraction for children with At-
tention Deficit Disorders. The
program is designed to comple-
ment current ADD/ADHD in-
terventions.
The program meets once a
week for eight weeks and is
held at the Jewish Community
Centers in West Bloomfield and
Oak Park. One way, accompa-
nied transportation is provided
from the child's school to the Jew-
ish Community Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Max M.
Fisher Jewish Community Foun-
dation.

Rabbi Moshe Tutnauer, the in-
terim rabbi for Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, is interviewed
on the first segment of Shaarey
Zedek Productions which is seen
throughout March.
Rabbi Tutnauer has traveled
all over the world. He and his
wife Margie have worked in
Bosnia, Ethiopia, Russia, Amer-
ica and Israel, where he and his
family make their home. Geri
Levit, host and producer of the
telecast, has prepared pictures
of the rabbi's exploits which ex-
plain the stories of his travels.
On the second part of the pro-
gram, Rachael Yaskowitz, re-
settlement director of the Jewish
Family Service, discusses her
work with the Jewish immi-
grants in America. Mrs.
