Chef Party

The Congregation Beit Kodesh
Sisterhood will have a fund-rais-
er, "Pampered Chef' party, 2 p.m.
Sunday, March 16, at the syna-
gogue.
Food will be prepared and
tasted and recipes will be avail- -\

demonstrating may be pur-

National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Section,
moved Tuesday, March 11. The

National Council of Jewish
Women, Greater Detroit Section
will host a community open
house during NCJW week, May
16-23, including NCJW Shab-
bat, a visit from NCJW Nation-
al President Nan Rich, a gala
celebration of the 25th anniver-
sary of Kosher Meals on Wheels,
featuring Dr. Ruth Westheimer,
and the presentation of the
Josephine S. Weiner Award for
community service.
The award will honor an in-
dividual or organization from
the Greater Detroit Metropoli-
tan area whose work benefits
the community and serves as an
inspiration to others. This year's
recipients are Detroit Mayor
Dennis Archer, Oakland Coun-
ty Court Judge Edward Sosnick
and Kadima's Executive Direc-
tor Janette Shallal.

Dr. Michael Dyson will give a
lecture concerning "Ethics, Race
and American Culture," 5:30
p.m. Monday, March 24, in the
ballroom of the Student Center
Building on the campus of
Wayne State University. There
is no charge for this event
and the public is invited. For

ORT Plans
Three Missions

Fraternity
Plans Meetings

Women's American ORT Israel
Missions are being planned for
May 28-June 5.
The 1997 Young Leadership
Mission (for ages 45 and under)
is being chaired by Patti Aaron
of West Bloomfield, who is a
member of the board of directors
of Women's American ORT and
is the associate chair of the Na-
tional Young Leadership Out-
reach Committee.
The 1997 missions to Israel
have been scheduled to coincide
with the central board meeting
of the World ORT Union in Tel
Aviv. All three missions will en-
compass visits to outstanding
ORT schools, seminars with Is-
rael's leading political and cul-
tural figures and time for
touring and travel. For infor-

Gamma Kappa Chi Fraternity
