Congregation B'nai Moshe will of-
fer a number of new adult Jewish
learning classes as part of the
spring semester at Kolel Moshe,
the synagogue's adult Jewish
learning center. All Kolel Moshe
programs and events are open to
the community.
On four Monday nights, start-
ing March 17, Kolel Moshe will
offer "Introduction to Torah
Trope" from 7 to 8 p.m. and "In-
troduction to Haftorah Trope"
from 8 to 9 p.m. Both will be
taught by Michael Weiss, an in-
structor with the synagogue's
LIFE (Learning Is a Family Ex-
perience) program and an expe-
rienced bar/bat mitzvah tutor.
The tuition is $15 per course for
members of B'nai Moshe, $20 per
course for non-members. Adult
learners who enroll in both mini-
courses will receive a tuition dis-
count. Students must have fairly
good Hebrew phonetic reading
ability and are encouraged to
bring a personal tape recorder to
class.
On March 31, Rabbi Aaron
Bergman will lead an eight-part
study series titled "Gathering Up
the Light; An Introduction to Jew-
ish Mysticism." This course is co-
sponsored by Congregation Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses. Tuition is
$40 for members of B'nai Moshe
and BAHM, $56 for others.
The class will meet from 10 to
11:30 a.m. on Mondays, in the
cafe area of Borders Books & Mu-
sic, Farmington Hills. No knowl-
edge of Hebrew is required.
B'nai Moshe is offering open
enrollment in its continuing adult
Hebrew classes. Current classes
include: Total Beginner Hebrew
Reading with Ahuva Newman on
Thursdays from 7:30 to 9 p.m.;
Second-Year Hebrew Reading
with Dr. Ed Golenberg on Sun-
days from 9:30 to 11 am.; Second-
Year Hebrew Reading with Rita
Abramson on Mondays from 8 to
9 p.m.; and Intermediate-Ad-
vanced Hebrew Reading with
Nathan Roth on Sundays from
9:30 to 11 a.m.

Passover, American Jewish his-
tory, the Hebrew Bible (in Eng-
lish translation), and Jewish
values will be among the subjects
offered for adult learning on six
Wednesday nights, starting
March 12 and leading up to the
Passover holiday, co-sponsored
by Congregation B'nai Moshe,
Congregation Beth Abraham Hil-

lel Moses, and Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit.
Six different courses will be of-
fered: three from 6:15 to 7 p.m.
and three from 7:15 to 8 p.m. All
classes will be held at Hillel Day
School, 32200 Middlebelt Road,
Farmington Hills. The program
is open to all interested adult
learners throughout the metro
Detroit Jewish community. There
is no charge for members of the
sponsoring synagogues or for par-
ents of Hillel students or gradu-
ates. For others, tuition is $25 per
course or $40 for two courses tak-
en back to back.
The following three courses will
be offered at 6:15 p.m.: "Why Is
This Book Different? Under-
standing the Passover Hag-
gadah," taught by Ruth Bergman;
"The History of Zionism: a Cen-
tennial Overview," taught by Seth
Korelitz; and "G'milut Hasadim:
A Prime Jewish Value," taught
by Aviva Silverman.
Courses offered at 7:15 p.m.
will be "Practical Passover,"
taught by Ruth Bergman; 'The
Evolution of the American Jew-
ish Community, 1654 to 1904,"
taught by Seth Korelitz; and
"Verse By Verse: The Book of
Genesis," taught by Aviva Sil-
verman.
All Eilu v Eilu courses are con-
tingent on minimum enrollment,
and advance registration is re-
quired. No Hebrew knowledge is
required for any of these classes.

Labor Zionist
Purim Event

The Labor Zionist Family (Labor
Zionist Alliance, Labor Zionist In-
stitute, Na'amatJUSA and
Habonim/Dror) will present a
Purim celebration featuring the
Jewish Community Center's In-
tergenerational Choir 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 16, in the Morris
L. Lieberman Hall, 25900 Green-
field Suite 205-E, Oak Park.
The public is invited at no
charge. Refreshments will be
served.

Cloning Topic

The Detroit Jewish Judicial Sem-
inar will meet for a lunch and
learn 12:15 p.m. Wednesday,
March 19, in the Riverside Con-
ference Room 700A of the Detroit

schel Finman, will be "Cloning
Sheep, Elvis, the Rebbe, and
