Barristers
Hold Seminars
The B'nai B'rith Barristers will
host a full day of legal seminars
starting at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb.
17, at the Bloomfield Township
Public Library, 1099 Lone Pine
Road.
The first session will feature at-
torney Robert Lan and Michael
Batchik, judge of the 52/1 District
Court, presenting an update on
Michigan drunk driving defense.
The second session, beginning
at 1:30 p.m., will cover criminal
practice and procedure presented
by attorney Jerry Sabbota and
Judge Denise Langford-Morris.
Cost for the full day, two-part
session will be $60 for non-mem-
bers and $45 for members. A half-
day session will be $40 for
non-members and $30 for mem-
bers. Registration will be at the of-
fices of Keith Sirlin, president of
the B'nai B'rith Barristers.

The weekly Lunch and Learn at
Congregation Beth Achim will be-
gin a special series of "Four Bibli-
cal Stories on Critical Life Issues."
Beginning at 12:15 p.m. Tues-
day, Feb. 11, Rabbi Herbert
Yoskowitz will lead a series of dis-
cussions based on source materi-
als provided by the Jewish
Theological Seminary of America.
After studying each biblical story,
participants will discuss how the
stories are relevant to issues in
daily life. It is requested that all
participants bring a Tanach (Jew-
ish Bible) to these sessions. Knowl-
edge of Hebrew is not necessary.
Each session is independent; in-
dividuals are welcome to attend
any or all. There is no charge.
Lunch is available for $4 per ses-
sion.

Super Raffie fund-raiser. The win-
ning ticket will be drawn at Hil-
