High school seniors who have
not yet made application for the
award may do so if they carry at
least a 3.0 grade point average,
have had a formal Jewish edu-
cation and are involved in the
community. Applicants will be
required to submit a one page
essay on the topic, "Is there a
Place in Government for Jewish
Values?" and be interviewed by
a panel of judges.

Flint Group
Serves Dinner

Jewish Family & Children's Ser-
vices of Flint (JFCS) will spon-
sor a Christmas dinner at the
North End Soup Kitchen, 735 E.
Stewart, Flint, for anyone with-
out a meal that day. @Regular
Copy:The sit-down meal will be
served by volunteers from 11:30
a.m.-1 p.m.
Each child will have his pic-
ture taken with Santa and there
will be gifts for children and
adults.

Parenting Center
Offers Classes

Certified babysitting for stu-
dents 11 and older. Students re-
ceive a Red Cross certification
card on successful completion of
the class, as determined by the
instructor. It meets 4-5:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, Jan. 8-Feb. 26.
Kitchen Table meets mornings
for moms and their babies, birth
through 15 months, 9:45-11 a.m.
Wednesdays, Jan.8-Feb. 26.
Evenings at the Kitchen Table
is for moms and their babies,
birth through 15 months, 6:45-
8 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 13-March
3.
Baby and Me Aerobics is an
exercise class for moms and ba-
bies up to 1 year of age.
Tattoos, Body Piercing and
Other Issues is a workshop with
Dee Dee Ginns Gruenberg. This
program is for parents of middle
and high school students. It
meets 7:30-9 p.m.
Music and Movement is for
moms and babies 3 months and
older, noon-12:30 p.m. Wednes-
days, Jan.8-March 5, ages 3-9
months; 11:15-11:45 a.m. ages:
10 months and older.
These classes are held at the
Eugene & Marcia Applebaum
Jewish Parenting Center, Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek, 4200
Walnut Lake Road, West Bloom-
field. There is a fee. Babysitting
available for daytime classes by
reservations.
