Akiva Hebrew Day School in conjunction with Yad Ezra, the kosher food pantry,
encouraged every student to bring in at least one box of candles. Students also
created Chanukah greeting cards to go along with the candles. Pictured with
their contributions are third-grader Tova Schreiber and second-grader Yonah
Pollack.

Knoliwood Country Club Wheelers Richard Colton, Phil Minkin, Morris Rochlin
and Larry Berry recently raised $20,000 from 181 sponsors as part of a 30-mile
bicycle ride to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. They have raised
more than $92,000 pedalling for MS since 1991.

Akiva Hebrew Day School students participated in the Panim el Panim program
in Washington, D.C., in November, meeting with Sen. Joseph Lieberman,
Ambassador Max Kampleman, and representatives of AIPAC and the Israeli
embassy. Shown with House Minority Whip David Bonior are, from left, Netanya
Weiss, Cheryl Miller, Irvin Schlussel, Ariel Reinitz, Akiva adviser Kathy Sklar
and Ari Lerman.
