Michael William Silver of West
Bloomfield will be bar mitzvah
at Adat Shalom Synagogue on
December 14. Rabbi Efry Spec-
tre and Cantor Howard Glantz
will lead services.
Participating in the services
will be his parents, Stephen and
Dorit Silver, and his sister Car-
rie. Grandparents Kati and
Benzion Gottlieb and great-
grandmother Elizabeth Licht-
enstein, all of Toronto, will
attend.
Michael will continue his cel-
ebration with a party in his hon-
or at Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses.
He is an eighth-grade student
at Hillel Day School and enjoys
skiing, baseball and tennis.

Volunteers
Aid Needy

Families, children and grand-
parents are invited to comfort the
elderly, fix up a shelter, serve
food to the hungry or perform
other tasks at the Volunteer Ex-
travaganza Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Starting from the Max M.
Fisher Building, groups will head
out to agencies and institutions
around the metro area to lend a
hand or to relieve workers who
wish to spend holidays with their
families. Registration deadline
is Dec. 13. To volunteer, call
Joanie Berger at Federation,

Terrorism
Is Discussed

"International Terrorism" will be
discussed 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13,
at Franklin Pointe Clubhouse.
The Sholem Aleichem Insti-
tute will host speaker Dr.
William Brazill, professor of his-
tory at Wayne State University.
