Court Aids
Women's Services

Jerusalem (JTA) — Israel's High
Court of Justice has instructed
the government to come up with
an appropriate arrangement to
enable a group of women to hold
egalitarian services at the West-
ern Wall.
The grass-roots group, Women
of the Wall, had petitioned the
court for the right to conduct ser-
vices there that would include
women reading from the Torah
and wearing tallitot.
During the group's previous at-
tempts to worship at the Western
Wall plaza, the women were as-
saulted by fervently Orthodox
men and women.
In addition, the court told the
Religious Affairs Ministry to pay
for all the legal expenses of
Women of the Wall.
In the past, the court has is-
sued similar directives concern-
ing the wall, but they were not
heeded.

Tourism Decline
Hurts El Al

Maj. Gen. Shahor was closely in-
volved in the peace negotiations
with the Palestinians. After the
change of power in the May elec-
tions, he remained so, most re-
cently negotiating the agreement
on civilian issues connected to a
Hebron redeployment.
Coalition members protested
the reported meetings.
Maj. Gen. Shahor's spokesman
said the meetings were social.
The spokesman said the general
had personal contacts across the
political spectrum.
Senior Israel Defense Force of-
ficials and other public figures,
including some coalition mem-
bers, came to Maj. Gen. Shahor's
defense.
Likud Knesset member
Reuven Rivlin called for an end
to what he termed "this witch
hunt" against Maj. Gen. Shahor.
He said it was customary for op-
position members to be briefed
by senior IDF officers and offi-
cials.

You could lose things
like extra weight. High
blood pressure. And high
blood cholesterol levels.
The very things that con-
tribute to heart attack and
stroke.
All you have to do is invest
wisely at the supermarket.
Buy more in the fresh prod-
uce, pasta, breads and ce-
reals sections. And pur-
chase fish, poultry and
lean meats instead of fatty
or processed meats.

Switch to low-fat dairy prod-
ucts and margarine. And
check the nutritional list-
ings on food labels.
In short, be selective about
how you play this market.
Because no matter how
much you lose, you've got
a lot to win.
