ican and Russian classical and folk music at
the Jewish Federation Apartments' annual
Chanukah party on Sunday, Nov. 17.
The event, billed as a celebration of diversity c.c,
within the community, was held at Congrega-
tion Beth Shalom in Southfield and was partially —
funded by the Oakland County Cultural Coun-
cil and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cul-

The party featured the 60-member Farmington Commu- 2
nity Band and a drawing for prizes ranging from a weekend '-u

golf package to a microwave oven.
Band conductor Paul Barber explained each musical se-
lection while a member of his troupe, a Russian-born Amer-
ican. translated_for the crowd.
