`Genesis' Group
Meets In Flint

Flint Jewish Federation's Jewish
Community Relations Committee
will present a discussion group to
accompany the PBS-TV series
"Genesis: A Living Conversation
with Bill Moyers."
The television series begins in
Flint on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.
and runs each week until Dec. 22.
The discussion group will take
place at First Presbyterian
Church at 7 p.m.
The discussion group is pre-
sented in conjunction with Con-
gregation Beth Israel, First
Presbyterian Church, Mt. Cannel -
Church, Parkland Presbyterian
Church, St. Paul's Episcopal
Church and Temple Beth El.

Kosher Ham
At Flint Event

The Sisterhood of Congregation
Beth Israel is sponsoring an
evening of "Kosher Ham on WRY'
Saturday, Nov. 2.
Bob Alper, rabbi and stand-up
comic, will perform. Ordained in
1972, and maintaining a pulpit for
14 years, Rabbi Alper now follows
a schedule of approximately 100
comedy dates and 20 synagogue
events (weddings, funerals, High
Holidays) a year.
Tickets are available by calling

are $8 in advance, $20 at the door,
or a special package for patrons
including preferred seating and
pre-show cocktail party.

Midwest Seminar
For Labor Zionists

Labor Zionists from throughout
the Midwest will gather in Tole-
do Nov. 15-17 for the Labor Zion-
ist Alliance's 13th annual Midwest
Seminar.
Hosted by Labor Zionist Al-
liance of Metropolitan Detroit, the
seminar will focus on the chang-
ing realities of Zionism, exempli-
fied by the recent Israeli election.
Keynote speaker will be Men-
achem Z. Rosensaft, former na-
tional president of the Labor
Zionist Alliance, author and par-
ticipant in the Stockholm discus-
sions with the Palestine
Liberation Organization.
In counterpoint will be Michael
Harris, professor of public policy
at Eastern Michigan University
and a major in the reserves of the
Israel Defense Forces, who will
discuss American Zionism from
