Support Group

Under the auspices of the Caring
Community Committee, Temple
Israel will offer a support group
to those who have suffered the loss
of a pregnancy or the death of a
newborn. The purpose of the
group is to provide participants
with a network of support and to
develop meaningful Jewish ritu-
als to acknowledge this kind of
loss.
The group will meet at Temple
Israel on eight consecutive Thurs-
days, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31; Nov.
7, 14, 21, at 7:30 p.m. The group
will be led by Arlene Sorkin, a
trained facilitatory in pregnancy
loss.

Food Fair,
Cooking Contest
A soup-cooking contest will be a
highlight of the fifth Kosher Food
Fair 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center. The fair is
sponsored by the Neighborhood
Project, the Jewish Center,
Franklin Bank and the B. Man-
ischewitz Co.
In addition to the soup cookofF,
there will be samples of kosher
food, cooking demonstrations and
activities for the entire family, in-
cluding a celebrity reading of
MassMutual

take place on the day of the event.
There is no charge to enter the
contest.
Admission to the Kosher Food
Fair is by a kosher food donation
to the Yad Ezra Kosher Food
Pantry. Cash donations also will
