abbi Steven Weil, spiritual
leader of Young Israel of
Oak Park, has been named
a 1996 Rabbinical Award
recipient by the Council of Jewish
Federations.
Rabbi Weil will be invited to re-
ceive his award at the CJF's an-
nual General Assembly, Nov. 1-17
in Seattle, Wash., where he will
be recognized at the GA plenary.
A reception will be held in honor
of all the Rabbinical Award win-
ners.
Rabbi Weil was nominated by
the Michigan Board of Rabbis and
the Jewish Federation of Metro-
politan. Detroit.
Rabbi Well headed Young Is-
rael of Greenfield before the con-
gregation's merger with Young
Israel of Oak-Woods. He sits on
the Federation-Synagogue Com-
mittee and co-chairs its leadership
subcommittee. Rabbi Weil also is
a member of the United Jewish
Appeal Men's Young Leadership
Cabinet. He is a board member of
the Yad Ezra kosher food pantry
and is a member of the executive
