HAVING RECENTLY
moved into West Bloomfield, it
was quite an experience for me
visiting and shopping in the
Kroger store at 14 Mile and
Farmington.
The grocery format is called
Kroger Premier, a shopping ex-
perience like few others ... with
both specialty foods and tradi-
tionalgrocery items in large and
convenient array.
I have been enjoying a most
pleasant series of shopping sprees
at this Kroger Premier with its
choice cuts of meats and poultry,
herbs and mushrooms, cos-
mopolitan selection of fresh im-
ported cheeses, a collection of fine
wines from around the world,
oven-fresh baked goods, includ-
ing large gourmet pies and torte
cakes; specialty salads and deli
items, etc.
Its Village Bakery has nine
kinds of 10-inch gourmet pies, 11
types of tortes, Zeman's challah,
etc.
The Kroger Garden has fresh-
squeezed juice, jet-fresh pineap-
ple, fresh baby vegetables and
specialty beans, etc.
And this isn't all ... When was
the last time you were at a su-
permarket that had UPS service,
Western Union, check cashing,
money orders, postage stamps,
lottery tickets, gift certificates,
copy machine and fax?
My bumping into so many
people I haven't seen in years has
been worth the moving
heartaches.
Shopping at this Kroger store
is fun.

Halperin happy birthday ... on

The shindig was attended by
135 people ... 23 of them the
guests of Darline and Marvin
Leader.
After the cocktail and hors
d'oeuvres hour, dinner in the din-
ing room was filled with much
conviviality ... Darline sat at our
table with Bob and Patti Levison,
Mike and Julie Corrigan, Betty
and Leo Langkil, Maureen and
Bill Quinn, and Tim and Gian-
nine Corrigan.
Marvin sat at another table of
their guests, including Mike and
Tim's Brighton parents, Bernie
and Bonnie Corrigan.

from college ... After all these
years, Annette Kuttnauer did it
recently with honors from the
Center for Creative Studies ... re-
ceiving a master's in fine arts.
She has a studio in her and
Cal's home, where Annette
sculpts, does oil paintings, graph-
ics, etc.
Not only was she the oldest in
her graduating class, but Annette
also received the most expensive
and lavish class ring of any stu-
dent ... a six-carat, pear-shaped
diamond ... given to her by Cal. ❑
