JPM Hosts
Varied Events

On Monday, July 1, at 1 p.m. the
Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center will present (
"Jewish Great Britain"; a video
about Great Britain's oldest syn-
agogue, the Bevis Marks Syna-
gogue, will be shown. There also
will be a brief history of the Jew-
ish community in Great Britain
given at that time. There is no
charge.
The next Yiddish movie will
be Overture to Glory on July 8.
There is no charge.
The Senior Forum, formerly
known as the Center Men's Fo-
rum, is now open to women. This
group meets every Thursday at
10:30 a.m. David Weiner facili-
tates this current events group.
There is no charge.
Weekly Erev Shabbat services
with Cantor Max Shimansky
take place on Fridays at 12:45
p.m.
The Wednesday Afternoon So-
cial meets weekly at 1 p.m. Re-
freshments are served. There is

Federation Elects
Michael Maddin

Michael W. Maddin was re-elect-

ed president of the United Jew-
ish Foundation at its recent
annual meeting at the Max M.
Fisher Building.
Installed with Mr. Maddin for
one-year terms were: Oscar Feld-
man, Jane Sherman and Susan
Citrin, vice-presidents; Robert
Slatkin, treasurer; and Robert P.
Aronson, secretary.
Named as at-large members
of the hoard for three-year terms
were: Stacey Crane, Elizabeth
Kanter-Groskind, Irving Laker
and Merton Segal.
Rotating off the board upon
the completion of their three-year
terms were: Wallace Handler,
Meryl Podolsky, Steven Victor
and Walter Wolpin.

Zionist Alliance
Elects Officers

At a recent council meeting, the
Labor Zionist Alliance of Metro-
politan Detroit elected the fol-
lowing officers for the coming
year. They are: president, Dena
G. Greenberg; vice president,
Ethel Silberg; treasurer, Belle G.
Schwartz; recording secretary,
Sara Schiff.

Publicity Deadlines

The normal deadline for local news and
publicity items is noon Thursday, eight
days prior to issue date. The deadline for
birth announcements is 10 a.m. Monday,
four days prior to issue date: out-of-town
obituaries, 10 a.m. Tuesday. three days
prior to issue date.
