The Detroit Alumni Chapter,
Detroit Auxiliary and the Den-
tal School chapters of the Alpha
Omega International Dental
Fraternity recently held their
annual installation dinner
dance.
Dr. Lawrence Morton was in-
stalled as the 67th president of
the Detroit Chapter of Alpha
Omega. Dr. Morton practices
dentistry in Southfield and has
been active in Alpha Omega
since his initiation in the Alpha
Nu Chapter at the University of
Detroit Mercy in 1958. He is a
member of the American Den-
tal Association, Michigan Den-
tal Association, Oakland County
Dental Association, Academy of
General Dentistry, of Detroit-
Mercy Dental Alumni Associa-
tion. Dr. Morton is a past
president of the Michigan Acad-
emy of General Dentistry and
the University of Detroit-Mer-
cy Dental Alumni Association.

ern University in the liberal arts
and speech pathology curricu-
lum. She belongs to the League
of Jewish Women, Adat Shalom
Sisterhood and has been active
with volunteer work for Yad
Ezra and Meals on Wheels.

New Program
For Youth
The Maple-Drake Jewish Com-
munity Center will hold an af-
ter-school club for elementary
school children. Children in
kindergarten through fifth
grade will have optional trans-
portation from designated
schools in West Bloomfield,
Walled Lake and Farmington
Hills to the campus of the Jew-
ish Community Center. Activi-
ties will include: swimming,
in-line skating, tennis, Judaic
programs, aerobics, dance, soft-
ball, drama, computer lab, and
visits to the Janice Charach Ep-
stein Museum Gallery and My
Jewish Discovery Place Muse-
um. Supervised homework and
kosher snacks will be provided.
Children in the club will receive
discounts on after-school class-
es.
Registration is being accept-
ed for daily and weekly partic-
ipation. Fees vary with the
child's attendance schedule. For
information and to register, call
the Center's Sports and Fitness
Department, 661-7678.

noon Thursday, eight days pri-
or to issue date. The deadline
for birth announcements is 10
a.m. Monday, four days prior to
issue date; out-of-town obitu-
aries, 10 a.m. Tuesday, three
days prior to issue date.
